Traveling in the modern world is an amazing marvel of human innovation that is also a soul-sucking hassle of epic proportions.
When it works well, a 21st-century traveler can get from any major city in the world to any other major city in the world within 24 hours. Stop and think about how FANTASTIC that is. Imagine explaining it all to Ben Franklin or Leonardo da Vinci.
In any case, I will be on the road today, navigating a complex web of driving times, parking reservations, airport security, tiny shampoos, ride-sharing apps, keyless check-ins, wi-fi passwords, conference schedule changes, presentation materials delivery confirmations, and cell-phone charging stations… armed only with what I can fit in a carry-on roller-bag.
I’m off to gird something and hit the road. Happy Friday, everyone!
