We all have 24 hours in every day (except for those two “daylight savings” days, a concept that is universally unhelpful and should be abolished).
We can use some of those 24 hours to “look busy,” or we can use them to get things done that matter.
Take a quick look at your to-do list and prioritize. Make sure you focus first on the things that matter, especially if you are one of the few people (or the only person) who can do them. Your leadership roles and your technical roles may be prioritized. Coach, mentor, and delegate some of the other stuff to more-junior team members—grow their skill set, grow their experience, or at least get them working on it so that your firm will charge the client a lower hourly rate to get that part of the project done.
If you still have time after that, you can get some of the other stuff done. But it’s not the most important stuff, so it can wait until tomorrow. Try to get home in time to fill roles in the lives of your loved ones that only you can.
