As we are navigating the return to the office, the use of hybrid scheduling, and all of the changes of the “great resignation” or “great reshuffle,” we have a chance to make improvements.
Think about the best parts of your company culture from back in 2019. Make the intentional choice to bring those back. Share the vision, e.g., “Remember how we used to do X? Let’s bring that back.”
Think about the parts that weren’t so great. Consider what would be better than the old way. Share THAT vision, as well, e.g., “Instead of Y, let’s start doing Z, instead.”
We have a chance to make the company into the best version of itself, but we need to figure out what that is, share our vision of that best future, and then intentionally grow it into a reality through building buy-in and moving people to action. It’s easier to do this as people are still navigating the return to the office, before they settle too far back into old habits. And it will convey a positivity for the future of the firm that may improve morale and retention.
