Admitting “I don’t know how to do that” feels threatening to many people.
As leaders, we should adopt an “always be learning” mindset for ourselves and our team. “I don’t know how to do that” is a lot less threatening if you add “yet” to the end.
“I don’t know how to do that yet—but hand me that manual and let’s figure this out.”
