What Do You Want To Do?
Do you have a plan or vision for the future of your team and your company?
Is it good? I’m going to assume you have benevolent intentions. Consider where you want your team to be in five years. Do your people know what you’re planning? Will your team-members be happy with this plan? Does it make their lives better? Does it help them achieve the career successes they want? If you have their enthusiastic buy-in, they will be adding their horsepower to make sure you all succeed. They might even come up with new ideas that make it more likely to work out well.
But if your team does not know about your great vision for the group’s collective success, it’s likely that they just assume the plan is “make boss-person rich.”
I find that less-than-inspiring, don’t you?
