Vision
“A clear vision, backed by definite plans, gives you a tremendous feeling of confidence and personal power.” ~ Brian Tracy
Do you know what you want? Consider how you want your projects to turn out. Consider where you want your team and your company to be. Consider what you want from your career.
Too often, we just “go with the flow.” We either have no idea what we want, other than some rather nebulous concepts like “success,” or we simply accept other people’s idea of what we should be and what we should do.
Take time to figure out what really matters to you. What is success and fulfillment to you? You might find that doing important things the right way or working with a great team is more important to you than getting paid more money to do work you don’t care about or with people you don’t like.
Help your team members figure out what their visions of success are, as well, and then help them grow into the kinds of professionals that they want to be. Everyone will be more focused and motivated if they have a sense that they are working toward something that matters, rather than being a cog-in-the-machine for a paycheck.
