Be the kind of leader who makes your people feel like they are at their best when you are around.
Respect them. Encourage them. Value them and their contributions. Green-light good ideas and have your people’s backs as they step up.
Don’t disrupt things when they are going well—sometimes your input is not needed. Your contribution can sometimes be protecting your people from other disruptions or from being overloaded, so that they can get things done.
