Underperformers
“Nothing drains a high performer faster than realizing their reward for excellence is cleaning up someone else’s incompetence.” ~ Leila Hormozi
When we have an underperformer on the team, we often need to ask other people on the team to do extra work.
They really hate that.
Don’t let low-performance issues fester. If someone is not pulling their weight, you (as the leader) need to proactively address it.
Get them more training. Help them prioritize and improve their time management. Re-motivate them. Deal with interpersonal issues among team members.
If you let things slide, it will hurt morale among your entire team, especially the people who have been picking up the slack. Worst case: those top performers leave the team, and you are left with just the underperformers.
