My travel schedule has been filling up!
Like many professionals, I am doing far more in-person work with clients these days, and I have noticed some things have changed since 2020.
Laguardia is nice now! It’s clean, comfortable, and pleasant. However, the gates for connecting flights seem like they might be located in a different borough, so wear comfortable walking shoes and give yourself plenty of time to get to your gate—like, a solid half-hour of walking time. I’m not kidding—the place is ginormous.
Bring earplugs or noise-cancelling headphones. Like many of us, I’m less tolerant of ambient noise than I was before the pandemic. It’s more grating and distracting. Give yourself an audio break.
Break out the business cards. People are exchanging them again. Maybe put a QR code on one side, if you are printing up a new batch.
You might also choose to leave the business suits at home. People are dressing more casually for meetings.
Enjoy being back in the world!
