We are all busy. And one of the most frustrating things is having a full to-do list, but instead of being able to work on those things, we’re sitting in a meeting that is wasting our time.
Have an agenda… and follow it. Don’t let meetings ramble.
Discuss things at an all-hands meeting that impact everyone. Have side meetings for the project team, etc. to discuss the things on that project—the rest of the company has other things on their minds.
Meetings are for interaction and discussion, for questions and answers. Announcements and other unidirectional communication can be a text, email, Slack post, etc.
Respect your people and their time, and you will make your meetings more impactful when you have them.
