The Secret to Success
Incremental progress builds up over time.
Don’t try to hit a home run every time you’re at bat. With good planning, you can make small changes over time and reach your goals with less stress on your team.
For example: don’t change over the entire computer system in a day—have one team be the “pilot program,” and work out the process so that it is smoother for the other teams, and the early adopters can train the later adopters on how to use the new system.
Sometimes it makes sense to make an intense “moonshot” effort, but that is usually a disruptive and expensive undertaking. Only do that when it is necessary.
