Warm weather is here!
If summer is not your industry’s busy season, your firm might have a policy for “summer hours.” Usually, this is a “you can leave early on Friday” policy, but individual versions may vary.
This may dovetail nicely with any hybrid or remote work options your office has adopted due to Covid. If you offered summer hours back in 2019, it might be a morale-booster to reinstate them again in 2022.
This is one of those benefits that really does improve morale and retention. It saves energy and money when you can turn off the lights and AC early. And people often feel the need to finish off their billable hours within the shortened work-week (which can be part of the policy, if you want to ensure it happens), so it doesn’t hurt productivity. When used well, it’s a win-win all around.
