Role Model
If you are the team leader or supervisor, all of your people will be interacting with you. Make that a net positive in their lives.
If you are tired or grumpy or upset, do NOT firehose your people with all of that negativity!
Do what you need to do to keep your energy up and bring focus and encouragement to your interactions with your people. It is okay to tell your people when you are tired or recovering from the flu or not getting a good night’s sleep because of the new baby at home, etc. The goal is to muster the energy not to let that fact bring out negative behavior.
You are the leader. You set the tone. It may be easy to do when you are well-rested and at your best. Make the effort to still give your people the best version of you, even when you are not at 100%.
