When the going gets tough...

So, the CDC is giving us all new guidance about wearing masks indoors, even when we’re vaccinated, and it’s hard not to get discouraged about “getting back to normal” anytime soon.

But we can all get through this, and as leaders, we can help our people get through this. When faced with a wave of discouragement, we can let ourselves be dragged under, or we can surf.

We can be the coach who gives the inspiring speech in the locker room at halftime:

We can even be the John Belushi in Animal House:

We can say, “Yeah, it sucks that we have to wear masks again in the office, but we will get through this. Are we going to let a little piece of fabric stop us from being great at what we do? Heck, no!”

Wear a mask. Get vaccinated. And don’t give up the fight. We will all get through this.
