The challenges of remote vs. hybrid vs. in-person continue.
For some people, being in the office is more productive. For others, it’s a noise-filled, distracting environment between time-sucking commutes.
If you want your people to work in the office, make it a valuable and productive experience. Schedule in-person meetings for in-person days—too many people shlep all the way into the office only to spend several hours on Teams calls with people who are not in the same office. Provide a pleasant environment that fosters focus—if many of your people spend the day wearing noise-cancelling headphones, you don’t have one. Reward performance, productivity, and quality work—don’t just make it about “attendance.”
To bring out the best in your people, you need to listen to them when they tell you and show you where they do their best work.
