Your people look to you for leadership.
One of the best ways to lead people is to help enhance their motivation—they can WANT to do great work.
Reinforce success and good efforts—catch people doing well and praise them for it.
Figure out what they need to feel like their work is making a difference. Are they helping the team or the client? Doing something good for the community or the environment? Demonstrating their expertise or excellence? Reinforce that impact to help their motivation.
Get their input on goals and process—it can be highly motivating to be working on MY project, rather than just A project.
