Make Leaders
“The most dangerous leadership myth is that leaders are born-that there is a genetic factor to leadership. That’s nonsense; in fact, the opposite is true. Leaders are made rather than born.” ~ Warren Bennis
Everyone has the capacity to be an effective leader at something. EVERYONE. Don’t overlook that capacity in any of your people.
Some people are team-builders. Some are coaches and mentors. Some create templates and processes. Some build motivation. Some are the drive and the engines that keep things going. Some are the trouble-shooters and do quality-control. Some are the subject-matter experts. Some work to keep things fair. And some people are the outward-facing “tip of the spear.”
Find areas in which your people have talents, and help them develop confidence, competence, and experience, so that they can have a greater positive impact on the team.
