Learn new things. Develop even basic skills in new systems and software your people need to use.
A great way to do this is to have your more junior staffers give a lunch-and-learn to the team about the new software or system. They get experience with presentations and training others—you get an overview of how to use the new system. The costs of their training have a stronger impact on the team, and you stay in-the-loop as the technology of your industry advances.
