Leadership is about "Peopling"
It’s not about the work—it’s about the people.
As the leader, you are doing less of the creating, manufacturing, drafting, selling, analyzing, etc. involved in your products. Your job becomes taking care of the PEOPLE who are doing all of that work. In a small shop, you may still have some hands-on responsibilities, but your focus needs to be on training and growing the people, motivating the people, and helping channel their energies, talents, and skills into the most productive uses.
