For those of us who joined the workforce a few decades ago, many of us feel like we were expected to drag our fever-riddled semi-corpses into the office and keep working “if we really cared about our jobs.”
Now we have better options. Stay home. Work remotely, if you are up for it.
Make sure you convey your expectations to your team. Let them know that you don’t want them coming in sick, since it spreads the virus to others.
And be a role-model for this behavior, as well. Work remotely.
We used to say, “don’t be a hero” about this, but understand that an actual hero would keep others safe. Whether it’s Covid, flu, or this weird fever-cough-chills thing that is going around, keep your germs to yourself.
