Incentivize What You Want
Is there something you would like to have your employees do? Or not do?
Reinforce the behaviors you want to increase by rewarding them. If you want people in-person more, offer them more PTO to reward those who do it. If you want your team members to mentor junior staffers, create simple metrics to measure that they are doing it, and reward those who do it with bonuses.
Basically, if you are asking your people to do more, you need to give them more. Don’t exploit employee loyalty—reward it by giving people who step up and do more fair compensation for their extra efforts. If it’s worth it to you, make it worth it to them.
