I have a pet peeve: if something needs fixing, tell me immediately, so I have enough time to fix it.
This is a communication issue. If someone procrastinates giving me needed information, it feels to me like they don’t have any respect for my time or schedule.
Give your people the information they need to be successful. Set them up for success. Don’t set them up for a “learning experience” without at least pointing out the pitfalls.
Effective and timely communication build mutual respect and trust. Make sure your people have the information they need from you to vector themselves toward success.
