Have a Vision for Success

One of the best ways to lead is to inspire people with an idea that makes things better. “Wouldn’t it be great if…?”

Consider where you would like your team, your company, or your industry to be in 5-10 years. What would make it better? How can you bring your people from where you are now to that better outcome?

Make a plan. Share it. Expand and refine it with good input from others. And then be the champion for this change—continual, sustained efforts over time. Include metrics and celebrate reaching milestones.

“Same old, same old” will bring diminishing returns in a changing marketplace. To keep your company healthy, look at where the wind is blowing and set your sails.
