Growing People
“A good objective of leadership is to help those who are doing poorly to do well and to help those who are doing well to do even better.” ~ Jim Rohn
Don’t just focus on helping your underperformers become marginally competent. Make sure that everyone—including your superstars—continues to grow and develop as professionals.
Coach and mentor everyone on your team. Make sure everyone has a path to the success and fulfillment that they want in their career. Make sure that your people know what options they can have, and what skill development and experience they need to get to the ones they want.
People who see a path to the career they want with you and your organization will have high morale, high retention, and will have respect and loyalty for the person who facilitated it.
