Gratitude
Your people are doing great work. Let them know it.
Too often, we take the “red pen” approach and only let our people know what they are doing wrong. Make sure your team members know you see the good things they do.
Praise their achievements.
Praise their good efforts.
Praise their improvements.
Praise their attitude.
Be authentic; fake compliments will make people lose respect for you.
Be proportional; gushing about little things comes across as insincere.
But make a conscious effort to see the good and to acknowledge it.
It’s great for everyone’s morale, including your own.
