One size does not fit all.
Talk to your people. Find out what helps each of them thrive. Some people prefer solo work; others prefer to collaborate with others. Some people like the excitement of a fast-paced project; others prefer time to think things through.
Seek out and develop the environments in which you thrive, as well. You will be a more effective leader if you are content, rather than stressed or bored.
