Character matters. People want to follow someone they can respect.
Tell people the truth. Follow through on your commitments. Keep your promises. Don’t cut corners or fudge the data. Have your people’s backs. Help them become the best versions of themselves, and don’t hold them back.
Your people want to follow someone with a plan, but it’s also important for them to know that the person leading them won’t throw them under the bus to help achieve that plan.
