Build Motivation
January can feel like an entire month of Mondays.
Make an effort to improve your team’s motivation, commitment, and general happiness.
Give them positive reinforcement and praise their good efforts. Make them feel respected and appreciated.
Share your vision for team success… which definitely should be about real and good results for your team members, not “the shareholders will become even richer!” If you can’t think of any benefits to your team members from continued success other than “you get to keep working,” that’s a whole different problem you should address. Take care of your people!
Encourage growth and learning opportunities for your team members, with a focus on the professional success and fulfillment they will be able to attain with their increased competencies.
Encourage work/life balance and self-care. Make sure they feel it is okay to take a break before they start to burn-out.
