People have different strengths. What are yours?
For some people, it’s energy and charisma. If you have it, channel it to inspire your people and build enthusiasm in your clients and potential clients. For some people, it’s building a functioning team by seeing where people can be included and how they can be mentored and grown. For some people, it’s a capacity to develop effective processes, the “how to do it right” that can be shared. Other people may have other areas of strength and giftedness.
So I ask again—what are yours?
Figure out what those strengths are, and try to find more ways to use them. Be careful not to overuse them—this can sometimes become a “to the hammer, the whole world looks like a nail” situation. But seek out opportunities that use your strengths. You’ll often find that these increase your job satisfaction and give a sense of purpose/meaning to what you do. Your job will be a more fulfilling part of your life.
And once you’ve got that understanding for yourself, help your people figure out what their strengths are, and help them find more ways to use them.
