Effective leaders grow mutual respect with their team.

Some people think they have to be bullies to be seen as leaders. For many of us, being mean to subordinates (e.g., “punching down”) causes us to lose all respect for that “leader.” But standing up to protect others from being bullied or harassed makes a HUGE positive impression and earns massive respect.
