Be the Example

You can talk about being a good leader for days on end. I know I do.

But if you want your people to see the power of effective leadership, be a role model of effective leadership. Show them how it’s done. Walk the walk.

Listen. Communicate to motivate. Be fair. Admit when you make a mistake, and then work to make things right.

Your example will make their lives better on your team, and it can influence their own interactions with teams of their own in the future.
