Technology changes how we do business, and a big change is happening now.
If you have not looked into how AI will impact your company, let this be a gentle nudge to look.
AI can be used for quality-control. It’s already being used in medicine to detect patterns that indicate cancer at earlier stages, which cna lead to more successful treatments.
AI can be used for calculations and foundational design elements in engineering.
AI can generate copy for social media posts, emails, proposals, and other written content across many industries.
AI can be used for budgeting and scheduling.
As leaders, it’s important to see what’s coming and prepare our teams for it.
Consider the AI tools for your industry and see if there are any of those tools that could be put into use now.
Consider tapping someone who likes new concepts and new technology to research the AI that is coming into your industry. That person might get training or other info and then give a lunch-and-learn to bring the rest of the team up-to-speed.
Watch our for complacency and being left behind. While we don’t want to jump on every fad or be early-adopters of all tech, it’s important to maintain our professional edge and market share. Don’t get left behind by ignoring a major game-changer.
And that being said, don’t trust the AI to do it all. A competent professional HUMAN should check ALL AI-generated drafts. Some people have gotten into trouble using AI materials without checking—for example, a lawyer in New York was sanctioned recently for submitting a legal brief written by ChatGPT that contained citations for fictional court cases.
Trust, but verify.
